This is the website for the family of Tranquilino Javier Ortaliz and Benedicta Villalobos Fernandez, both from Jaro, Iloilo. They migrated to Negros Occidental, together with the other brothers of Lolo Tanqui. Raising five children in Negros, Lolo Tanqui believed that education was most important, and he would borrow money from his richer relatives, so he could send his children to school. Tita Uping became a pharmacist, Tita Paking a teacher, Tito Julio a physician, Tita Nening a dentist, and the youngest, my mother Elving became a pharmacist too. All of them did well in school, graduating with honors, and topping the government board exams in their respective fields.
